Chris Hancock

Chris Hancock was appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer, AARNet Pty Ltd at the beginning of 2004.  AARNet provides high-capacity leading edge Internet services for the tertiary education and research sector communities and their research partners in Australia.

Prior to joining AARNet, Chris held the position of Managing Director of the Wholesale Division and prior to that as Managing Director of the Business Division at Optus , Australia’s 2nd largest telecommunications provider.

Chris has more than twenty years experience in senior leadership and executive positions, including the last 14 years in both the media and telecommunications sectors, holding senior executive roles at both Vodafone and the Seven Television Network.

Chris is an active member of the community and sits on Australian boards with organisations such as the Starlight Foundation, Invasive Animals CRC, Internet Industry Association and Charles Sturt University.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts (Social Science) from Charles Sturt University and an Executive MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
