Postgraduate students play
a very important role in Cooperative Research Centres. In the
IA CRC, students are attached to projects that contribute to one of
our 13 operational targets. They receive funding support
through projects as well as an industry-level scholarship with a
three-and-a-half year tenure (rather than the usual three). In
addition, we assist students with strong skills-based
training. Our aim is to produce better, more 'balanced'
scientists that are attractive to employers and will make a
substantial contribution to furthering understanding and expertise
in ecosystem and invasive animal management.
Students work across a wide range of scientific
disciplines and in a variety of locations across
Australia.
