Commercial Products

PIGOUT^®

The first commercial product for the IA CRC – PIGOUT^® Feral Pig Bait – received national Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicine Authority (APVMA) registration for ground and aerial deployment on December 21 2007, and went on sale in January 2008. The product was launched at Sutton in New South Wales on March 31st 2008 by David Palmer (MLA CEO).

PIGOUT^® is a revolutionary new delivery system allowing baiting programs to be specifically targeted at feral pigs.

PIGOUT^® is the result of several years’ collaborative research and development effort by the CRC and Animal control Technologies Australia (ACTA) in partnership with many state and territory government agencies concerned about feral pig management.

PIGOUT^® is manufactured and distributed through ACTA. The CRC Project Leader responsible for this project is Dr Steven Lapidge, Uptake Program.

HOG-GONE^®

A second-generation feral pig bait containing a new, more humane active toxin, sodium nitrite. Various field trials have been conducted in different habitats around the country, some achieving as high as 90% knockdown of feral pig populations.

Humaneness trials and non-target risk assessments have been completed. The product is currently undergoing further field trials prior to a registration package being lodged with the APVMA.

PAPP baits

New bait options for control of foxes and wild dogs in Australia, with improved target specificity and faster, more humane action. Registration packages for both the fox and wild-dog  baits have recently been submitted to the APVMA and are currently being assessed.

Blue Healer^® antidote

An antidote for accidental poisoning of working dogs by PAPP and potentially HOG-GONE^® baits to be available to veterinary professionals. This product is undergoing further trials prior to a registration package being submitted.

Hog Hopper / Boar Buffet

A large, low maintenance, target-specific bait hopper for population level feral pig management using PIGOUT^®, HOG-GONE^® or other pig bait substrates. Prototypes have been trialled in the field and the design refined. Initial manufacture has gone out to tender.

TAKE AIM^®

A freeze-dried rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus product

CO-Fumigator

A carbon monoxide pressure fumigator for rabbit warrens. Initial prototypes have been refined and are currently undergoing further trials prior to a registration package being submitted.
